Hurst Ranch Wedding

wedding, designJessicaComment

One of my favorite hobbies is designing wedding invitations. I'm a romantic and I like to make things pretty. And wedding invitations is a great avenue for all things beautiful, textile, and lovely!

To kick off showcasing some wedding designs I've done, I would like to start off with my dear friends Tim and Joce! They got married December of 2015 at a beautiful ranch in West Covina. This was the first time I've worked with watercolor and it was so much fun. It was challenging to figure out the process but as soon as I got the ink to water ratio, I felt at more ease.

I mocked up a watercolor background for the couple to see before watercoloring each individual piece. Their RSVP card was a tear off so they can send the postcard back.

The best part is that I have 2o more weddings to share with you all :)

Repeat the Sounding Joy

As a thank you to all our church friends who served with Aaron in any of his music teams in 2015, we got them a tote bag and a book. I lettered the words on the canvas then had it printed at 4dvi. I've been working with this print shop for awhile now and I really like their service and the work they do. I didn't just slap on the lettering on a stock image. This is the actual product. Look how crisp that white is!

We hosted a potluck at our house then gave these gifts to them at the end. If you want to purchase a tote bag you can buy one in my shop. I have a limited supply so get on it!

iPhone App Designs

designJessicaComment

While I was travelling for work, I wanted to download some iPhone apps to play on the airplane. Unfortunately I didn't realize that I should be doing this until my last plane ride. Anyway, I downloaded a bunch hoping most of them wouldn't need data to play. And while looking up games I came across Solitaire and was thinking that the app looked familiar. I then realized that I made that app icon! I forgot how this client of mine found me but they asked me to vectorize the Solitaire, FreeCell and Spider Solitaire app icon they already had. They changed some of the design since the time I worked on it but it's still something funny to see a couple of years later.

I know Solitaire can be played offline and I'm assuming the other 2 can as well. So if you're ever flying for long periods of time, you can play these games!

Is it still summer?

thoughts, designJessicaComment

I feel like since I finished college, summer is just another season. But I am determined to make the last 2 months of summer feel like summer. I'm going to host some parties, create stuff and relax like I did back in high school and college. This month's already been great because I went to Ojai, San Francisco, and children's retreat but I want this summer to continue to be the best! Are you making this summer great? Talking about it makes me excited and ready!
